CHANGES TO VACCINATIONS/TRAVEL VACCINATIONS

IF YOUR JOB PLACES YOU AT RISK OF HEPATITIS B INFECTION, IT IS YOUR EMPLOYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ARRANGE THE VACCINATION FOR YOU, RATHER THAN YOUR GP. CONTACT YOUR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT. PLEASE NOTE STUART ROAD CHARGE A FEE OF £25 FOR THIS VACCINATION.

CARE QUALITY COMMISSION INSPECTION

Stuart Road Surgery was inspected by a CQC Team on Tuesday 10th May 2016 we have recently received our feedback and official report.

The good news is that we were awarded a rating of GOOD which is a wonderful achievement for all our hard working and caring staff.

I trained at PGI from 1989 – 1992 and following that worked part time in several nursing homes specialising in care of the elderly. In 1998 I did a Return to Nursing Course at Bradford University and then worked on the medical wards at PGI until joining Stuart Road in 2001. I specialise in Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Coronary Heart Disease, Cytology, Contraception and Sexual Health and Smoking Cessation. I also deal with a lot of Travel Health. I am the lead nurse for Diabetes at the surgery.

Healthcare Assistants

Julie Lindsay

I initially started working at Stuart Road Surgery 20 years ago as a receptionist. During my 13 years in reception I completed the practice receptionist Programme qualification. The surgery then wanted to employ a healthcare assistant, I applied and got the job. Since starting this role I have successfully completed NVQ levels 2 and 3. I have also trained as an accredited smoking cessation advisor and a weight management advisor and I am responsible for H Pylori screening within the practice. I have also completed training to be able to give flu, pneumonia  and b12 injections.

Ms Yvonne Harrison-Hall (f)

I commenced employment at Stuart Road Surgery in 2009 after working at Pontefract General Infirmary as a trained Phlebotomist. My intial role at Stuart Road Surgery was Phlebotomist. I have since completed NVQ Level 2, 3 & 4 in Health & Social Care. I am an accredited Smoking Cessation Advisor. I have trained to give Flu, Pneumonia and B12 vaccinations. I also do Spirometry, Bloods, BP, Dressings and assist the GP to do Minor Operations.
