Results Of Tests And Investigations
Test results can take time to come through from the hospitals and laboratories. However, we should be able to give you a rough idea of how long results may take to return to us. Once received, they are reviewed and filed or actioned by one of our clinicians. Where results are abnormal or require further action, you will ordinarily be contacted by a member of our admin team to advise you of the next steps required, which might be to book an appointment with a clinician to discuss, or pass on information from a clinician.
If you wish to check whether results have been received, please ring the surgery after 11am. Please note that only results that have been reviewed by a clinician can be given and not all results necessarily arrive back at the same time: This may be true where you have had multiple investigations or multiple blood samples taken. Where this is the case, please be aware that there may be further results pending not available or visible to us at the time of your call.
We have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission in writing to discuss their medical records on their behalf.
